Never been to church before? Don’t know what to expect? Just feel like trying out a new church?

We love new people and welcome everyone, regardless of whether you’ve never been to church before or have been a Christian for years. We're a very diverse church and include people of every age (from babies to people in their 90s!) and every kind of background so you're sure to fit in.

Do I have to be a Christian to come to church?

No – we welcome people from all backgrounds. We run Alpha which is a great way of finding out more about the Christian faith.

What can I expect?

We believe that being a Christian is about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, not about being religious. Jesus Christ loves and welcomes everyone no matter what their background and we set out to do the same.

We know what it’s like going to a new place and not really knowing anybody. Our hosting team are always looking out for new people and you will be given a very warm welcome. Some of us will sometimes go for lunch together after the morning services or to the pub after the evening service and would love for you to join us. Just look out for members of our hosting team who will be happy to tell you more.

What can I come to?

Check out Sundays for more info on our services to help you decide which is right for you. If you’re not sure you can always try out a few to see where you feel most at home. Or check out Life Groups if you want to meet a smaller group over a meal and a chat. We also run other occasional events - check out our Spring/Summer Guide to see what's going on.

I've just moved into the area

Coming to Hope Church Islington is a great way to get to know others who live nearby and to become more involved in the local community. If you've just moved here we would love to meet you.

Do you have anything for students?

Students are very welcome at all our services but if you want a lie-in on a Sunday morning you can check out our evening service.

What about if I’m in my 20s/30s (or 40s)?

Hope Church Islington is a great place to meet new people. There are people in their 20s and 30s (& 40s) at our 10am, 11am and evening services. We regularly host social events, and always have more planned - so keep an eye on our 'What's on' page.

What if I'm a bit older?

We organise regular afternoon teas and keep fit classes specifically for over 50s. Both are an excellent way of meeting new people and are a lot of fun too.

I’ve got children, can I bring them along?

We welcome children of all ages and have a variety of children’s groups and a crèche at our 10am service, as well as a crèche at our 11am service. Visit our children and youth areas to find out more.

What if I just want to come along for one Sunday?

We love having visitors – you are more than welcome to come just the once to see what we’re all about! We'll make sure to give you a Welcome Pack to take away to give you an idea of what we do.

How can I get more involved?

There are all sorts of ways that you can get involved at Hope Church including attending one of our courses, coming along to some of our social events, joining a Life Group and volunteering to help on one of our teams. Go to our ‘Get involved’ section for loads more info.
